Sweet and Spicy Mixed Nuts Recipe
What can I add to nuts?
While there are many interesting additions to nuts, this recipe focuses on sweet and spicy flavors. So, you’ll add butter, sugar, cayenne, cumin, salt and pepper to create a spice mix for nuts.
These few spices alone give the nuts a complex flavor, blending sweet, spicy, and savory into one dish. Your friends and family will think they were hard to make, too! But we don’t need to let them in on our little secret. 😉
How are mixed nuts prepared?
These mixed nuts are prepared in four steps. The first is basically dumping all of the nuts into a bowl, and then sprinkling in a few seasonings. (Challenging, I know!) Second, you’ll melt the butter and combine with sugar and water over a saucepan. Third, you’ll combine the liquid mixture with the nuts. And finally, you’ll bake them. That isn’t so hard, is it? 🙂
Are mixed nuts a healthy snack?
Yes, mixed nuts are absolutely a healthy snack! This healthy mixed nuts recipe only uses a little sugar and butter. Beyond those two ingredients, the rest are healthy!
