How to Propagate Houseplants
Plant Propagation – What You’ll Need:
- Pothos, or other any other houseplant
- Clean Scissors
- Small Jar or Glass filled with Water
- Pot and Soil for Planting
Instructions for Propagating Plants in Water:
#1: Make the Cut
Using a clean pair of scissors, simply cut off a branch with a stem length of at least 4-6 inches.
#2: Make The Plant
Then, place the branch in a jar or glass of water, with the bottom part of the stems fully immersed. Place the jars in a warm, bright spot of the house, with visible sunshine for at least part of the day.
#3: Wait… And Watch it Grow
Make sure to replace the water every two – three days. You should see roots start growing in about three – four weeks.
#4: Plant
And finally, once roots have grown out and become at least one – two inches long, go ahead and plant them in a pot with dirt, and watch them grow into your next big, beautiful houseplant!
There you have it! A brand new plant, without spending any extra money.
