Hosted several times per year at many REI locations, the Garage Sale is a great place to pick up tremendous deals on outdoors gear. The gear that is sold has actually been returned, and all sales are final. I’ve picked up Yeti Coolers, Merrell Shoes, backpacks, among other items which were in almost perfect condition but a fraction of the store price!

Getting your REI Membership is tremendous. With it, you get 10% back on all your purchases at the end of the year, as well as have access to the Garage Sale (listed above).
#4: Return Policy
I couldn’t do a post on REI without mentioning the great return policy. You can return anything after one year, except for electronics, which have a 90-day return policy. This is becoming increasingly rare these days, and is not something to take lightly!
