Ingredients
36Oreos {14.3 oz package}
8ozCream Cheesesoftened
24ozSemi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Optional: Sprinkles for Topping or 1 cup White Chocolate Chips for Drizzle
Instructions
Place Oreo Cookies in a gallon sized ziplock freezer bag, close, and crush thoroughly with a rolling pin.*
Transfer Oreo crumbs to a large mixing bowl, add the cream cheese, and stir well with large spoon until all combined.
Then form into smooth, round, once-inch diameter balls, and place on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
Freeze for about 20 minutes, or until slightly hardened.
Place half of the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips in microwave safe bowl, and microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and microwave for 20 more seconds, and stir again until chocolate chips have melted. If needed, you can microwave an additional 15 seconds.
Coat half of the Oreo Balls in the melted chocolate. Go fast, as the melted chocolate hardens quickly! I like to toss them into the bowl, and roll them around with two forks, then lift it up out of the chocolate on one fork, and carefully transfer back to a parchment paper lined cookie sheet using a table knife.
At this point while the chocolate on your Oreo ball is still wet, you can add white sprinkles if you’d like. Or if you’d rather, you can add a white chocolate drizzle later on.
Once you’ve finished coating half of the Oreo Balls, now repeat the last two steps for melting the remaining chocolate chips and coating the other half of the balls.
If you’d like to top off with a white chocolate drizzle, return the Oreo balls to the freezer to harden up for 5 – 10 more minutes.
Then when you’re ready to drizzle, remove Oreo Balls from the freezer. Melt 1 cup of White Chocolate Chips in a microwave safe measuring cup or small bowl, then pour into a small condiment bottle. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over each ball, allow to harden.
Oreo Balls should be stored in the refrigerator, and removed just prior to serving. ENJOY!
Notes
*Alternatively, if you have a food processor, you can use that to crush the oreos.
